Idalia and the Niño Santo (Unreleased)
In this feature documentary, Idalia, a young Mazatec shaman from the mountains of Oaxaca, straddles multiple worlds as both a mushroom healer and a liaison for the local hospital. Through Idalia's eyes, we come face to face with larger social historical tensions regarding gender, motherhood, ethnicity, westernization, and alternative conceptions of the self.
